Oxford is easily accessed by train or by bus (e.g. the Oxford Tube bus service from London, and the “Airline” buses from Heathrow and Gatwick airports).
Arriving in Oxford by Train. Oxford Train Station is to the west of the city and Wolfson is to the north, 1.8 miles apart. It’s typically a 10min journey by taxi depending on traffic, or a 40min walk.
Arriving in Oxford by Bus. Gloucester Green Bus Station is close to the city centre, from which Wolfson is a 30 minute walk. Taxis are also available.
Important. On Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th is the traditional St Giles Fair, for which there will be road closures in place from Sunday to Wednesday. The usual walking routes are via the town centre and go through St Giles where the fair is located. There are other routes if you wish to bypass the fair, and from the station there’s an alternative walking route alongside Oxford Canal which completely avoids the centre.
Usually there are multiple buses from the station or from the town centre which go to St Margaret’s Road, from where you can walk to the college. These will be disrupted by the Fair so please consult the latest travel information. The usual buses are as follows and expect to be operational on Wednesday 11th, but check for updates:
Buses 2, 2A, S5 or S7 all connect the town centre Magdalen Street stop C4 (which is 0.5 mile from the station) to St Margaret’s Road East (0.4 miles from college).
Number 14 (runs between the Train Station and JR Hospital) - the St Margaret’s Road East bus stop is a 0.4 mile walk from Wolfson College.
S3 Gold (runs between the Train Station and Chipping Norton) - the St Margaret’s Road West bus stop is 0.5 mile walk from Wolfson College.
